LEV Commissioning – Getting it Right from the Start

Every new or modified LEV installation must be commissioned before it goes into service. This process proves that the system is working correctly and effectively controlling hazardous substances. A commissioning report is then issued, and this acts as the benchmark for all future testing and is a legal requirement for all systems, whether it’s a central dust extraction setup or a single mobile weld fume unit.

At MCG, we follow the guidance set out in HSG258, which outlines exactly what’s required in a commissioning report and specifies the necessary qualifications for engineers performing the work.
