MCG Environmental Engineering Ltd were called in by an industrial client to investigate water ingress into their existing filtration plant.
After a comprehensive inspection it was discovered that due to bad design by the original installation company the weight of the high level fan, had caused distortion in the filtration unit discharge plenum. This distortion had broken the seal between the filtration unit and discharge plenum which allowed water to leak into the filtration units.
In order to rectify the issue we relocated one of the filtration units to the side of the existing installation, to allow the fan to be installed at low level between the two units. It was a requirement of the client that the fan be relocated to low level to allow for easier routine maintenance and servicing.
The filtration units underwent a full service with new filters, seal and replacement motors fitted to the previously inoperative cleaning system. If you have a problem system and water ingress issues, feel free to contact us on 01327 209638 or email enquires@mcgenvironmentalengineering.com
